If I have a problem, how can I contact you? ----------------------------------- Do you accept international orders?
Of course! The CG community is spread all over the world, and we can ship your order to pretty much any location you choose. For your convenience our prices are listed in British Pounds and US dollars, and when you order from us online via WorldPay or PayPal your credit card company will convert your currency to our prices (British Pounds £) based on the current exchange rate.
When you order from our shop, a confirmation email will be sent to you to confirm our receipt of your order and the price will be lised both in British Pounds and US Dollars, please be aware that the dollar price is based on a fixed average recent exchange rate and may not be totally accurate. For an accurate conversion, please use the XE Echange Rate page here. Also we will notify you when your order ships, or indeed in the case of any issues such as a delay in dispatch.
What shipping methods do you offer?
We currently Offer Royal Mail for UK and International and UPS/Fedex for international orders over 16 DVDs, check out our Shipping page for more details
What format are your DVDs?
Our DVDs are DVD-ROMs, and our video content is encoded in the Techsmith Camtasia video codec at 1280x1024. Note that they are not Video DVDs and will not play in a domestic DVD video player. This format will however play on any PC with a DVD-Rom drive and the Camtasia codec (Video player included on each DVD). This format offers outstanding visual clarity and the ability to be used on the target platform i.e. you don't need a domestic DVD player next to your PC.
What happens if my DVD is damaged when received ?
Our DVDs are guaranteed to arrive to you in perfect condition. If this is not the case, please return the damaged items to us and we will replace your item free of charge. This is also the case if a DVD appears to be in good condition but will not play on your system. However in this circumstance, please check first if it is an issue with your DVD player as some older drives have issues with newer burnt DVD formats (see section below) .
Your DVDs do not work in your DVD player?
If our DVD's do not work in your PCs DVD drive, we can supply the DVD in another format. This should solve your problem. There are currently two formats available for DVD-Rom, which are DVD+R and DVD-R. We currently use DVD -R for the bulk of our orders and these discs offer over 90% compatibility rate with existing DVD-Rom drives. This figure will improve over time as people upgrade or purchase new PCs with newer drive models.
However some pre burnable DVD-ROM era drives are not compatible with newer discs. We will replace all of your DVDs with an alternative format (DVD +R) when we receive your DVDs. Ultimately though it may be a better option to upgrade your drive or use another drive at your disposal rather than incur the cost and delay of returning your discs for replacement (this is highly recommended).
Can I get a refund if my DVDs are damaged?
Yes you can. If your DVDs are damaged or not playable on your hardware then you have the right to dispatch to us within seven days of receiving your goods and we will issue a full refund to you of your DVDs value when we receive your DVDs.
Are my credit card and personal details safe?
Yes, all of our online transactions are handled via WorldPay and PayPal, both of which use an encrypted secure server. This means that your credit card and personal details are never sent in plain text form, only under a very high level of encryption, making any possible interception of your details virtually impossible.
Can I make back-ups of my DVDs?
Yes you can, and indeed we would encourage you to make one backup of each DVD to protect against inadvertent scratching, cracking or just simple aging of the media. DVDs, as with most things do not last forever. Note however that copies may only be made as a backup or for classroom use, any other copying or distribution is prohibited by international law.
Can I copy my CG Academy DVD to my PC?
Yes you can
both as a backup method and as strategy to create a network deployment for classroom teaching. For details on how to do this, please contact us here.
Will you keep my information private ?
Yes, we do not share our customer details with 3rd parties. The personal information we receive about you is only used to process our orders. Can I order by mail?
Currently, no. Though we are working on a system to allow this. Come back soon if this is your only order/payment method. We will implements a mail order system as soon as possible.
Can I order over the phone?
I'm sorry, but we do not accept orders over telephone. If I have a problem, how can I contact you?
You can either contact us via e-mail or by telephone. However, please note that e-mails are very much the preferred method as they are more immediate, easier to track and less costly for both parties. The contact details are...

Use in Educational Establishments
Can I use your DVDs to teach in my classrooms?
Yes you can. However, we would ask that you limit their usage to one DVD per 5 students. As a school you will (hopefully) be making money from using our products and as they may be used to take the place of direct tuition we ask that your purchases reflect this. So if you teach a small class of say one to five people then one purchase is reasonable. For a class of 15 It would be reasonable for three copies of the DVD be purchased.
Your facility will have bought copies of 3dsmax to teach with, please support the further efforts of CG Academy by also purchasing our discs responsibly. Please also note that Educational establishments can receive a 15% discount once registered, so purchasing our discs does not have to be prohibitively costly.
Can I deploy your DVD on our network to make group teaching easier?
Yes you can, and indeed we would encourage this as it makes your life easier and also reduces wear and tear on your DVD-ROMS. Note that beyond this the usual copyright laws still hold.
